Got DSL 1/18/07, now I can't get MySpace to come up. I had no problems getting it to come up with dialup. It was slow but it at least worked, now it doesn't.

Also when creating music profile put a fictitious artist and song name your uploading.This will lessen your chance of the music profile being deleted because that song is copyrighted. I really think it depends on the profile layout you pick. They are all different. Some are automatically set up to only show certain things...I just looked until I saw one that showed exactly what I wanted it to show. If you look at them really good, you will notice that some of the layouts are different and do not include all of your info. Hope this helps..

if you use a proxy site to access myspace in a location where it is blocked, the owner of the proxy site will then have your login information, which they can then sell to spammers, which will then cause your account to be "hacked" and that's why you are seeing so much spam on myspace

the accounts which the spammers love to gain access to the most are the accounts which have been "whored" to "get tons of friends" - spammers will pay big money to gain access to those accounts

once the spammers get ahold of those whored accounts, and start spamming, myspace detects it and either locks EVERYONE (including you) out of that account, or they just delete the account altogether, which is why you see so many "whores" complaining about getting "Deleted at 10k for no reason!" - there's a reason, alright

why not just wait til you get home to get on myspace and save yourself (and all of us too) the trouble? then you wont have to keep creating new accounts

You can add as many as you want, but you can only display a certain number of them on your page (4 or 5 i think). If you click on "View All Blogs" all your blogs will still be there.

There are all kinds of myspace editors that will "pimp" your myspace. Most of them will also put a nice big banner on your page advertising for themselves.

If you go into your Settings there's a section called Spam. You can choose there whether or not you have to approve comments.

The only thing I've ever had to approve before it would post were messages containing HTML and there's a spot to turn that off.

It can be changed all you need to do is log in, go to account settings, then click on spam. Once you do that scroll down to comments and unclick the box that says it requires approval.

no it will not always be like this, you can change the settings on your myspace so you'll not have to approve all of them. the purpose of this is to keep peoples pages that been hacked into from posting spam comments on your page, and unwanted stuff thats you dont want others to know about on your page.

to change this do the following:

1) sign on to your myspace page

2) go to account settings

3) click on spam

4) then under Communications Settings go to comments: and uncheck Require approval before comments are posted.

5) then click on save all changes

First off a layout site:

now to anwser your first question.

-go to your homepage.

-find the option bar at top of your page (says things like home, browse, etc.)

-Find the music link in this bar.

- Click.

-Find the Search bar on that page. (search for artists)

-Type in artist name.

-Submit.

-Find the artist profile.

-Click

-Scroll down until you find a music player on there page, with about 4 or so songs.

-Find the song you want.

-Look at the little options under the song.

-Click add to profile.

-Click okay (I believe)

-Go back to home and look at page and it should be there.

Previously, I used the trick of changing one's age to 14 or 15 to get a private profile. Last week, I decided to change back to my real age.

Luckily, my previous private profile settings (which are only for 14 and 15 year olds) stayed the same!! I verified my findings by logging out of myspace, and then trying to look at my profile. Fortunately, it still read "This user's profile is set to private..."! I even checked on another computer, it was the same. Now it's been like that for over a week!

I told my friend, who also had her age as 14, and she switched her profile back to her real age as well. The previous privacy settings remained for her, too!!

Supposedly, myspace retains the privacy settings to protect youngsters who want to change their age to seem older.

My question is: does this privacy method work for everyone? See if it works for you...change your age to 14 or 15, leave it that way for a while, and then switch back to your real age. Do the privacy settings remain?

well i have a myspace account and on my birthday it said i was 18 which i was 19 so i changed it and it let me it didn't keep the age as 18 but my sis is 15 and her profile isn't private i think what it is, is that the settings weren't changed i don't think it has anythin to do with the age b/c my sis' was never set to private but i will look to check it out and see and i'll email u with my findings if that's ok with u.

OK your question was way too long for me to read it all, but MySpace does now have a way for anyone to have a private profile, not just 14 and 15 year-olds. You just go to Account Settings and then Privacy Settings.

Also, lying about your age is against the terms of service and can get your account deleted.

I don't think it is possible to use the same url....

They tell you when you pick your personal url that it is unchangable and irreplacable....

I would assume that that means that you cannot use it again even if you delete the original account....

Well i'm not completly sure on this, but i think you just need to delete your account. Then go to the music section in myspace and there will be a red banner at the top. One of them will be a hyper link to start your own myspace music account. Then once you have one you should be able to choose that url.

If not, chek it and there should be a link that you click on, then everything should go smoothly.

If so, try to request the verification email again in account settings.

It could be a glitch or they could have cancelled it. I couldn't really tell you. I have myspace send me email notifications so it says who does something and what....If someone sends you a friend request or comment and deletes it, you know who did it. :)

i had the same problem and finally figured it out. apparently the homepage skins only works for accounts that have "U.S.A." set as the "preferred site %26amp; language". i'm from the US but currently living in the UK so i usually have it set to "United Kingdom". have your boyfriend go into 'account settings' and change his 'preferred site %26amp; language' to "U.S.A." after he does that and saves the settings, he should be able to click on 'home' and set his homepage skin. then he can go back and change his 'preferred site %26amp; language' to his original country settings if he wants. his skin will remain on his homepage but should he ever want to change it again, he'll have to go back and set it back to "U.S.A."

You are most likely using different web browsers. Your friend may be using an older version suggest that he update his. Also go to the update section of the service and look for any critical updates or preview a list of available updates, the content is there if you know how to get it. May be right on the page at myspace.

you can click on the music link it is towards the top on the myspace menu bare. If you want a particular song or artist search for the artist's name. Then artist's profiles should pop up, go to the artists profile and under the title of their songs they have available playing, you can click add. That should add it to your profile. sorry it isn't easy. I tried to make it the least complicated as possible ! : )

You can also use your command prompt to find a way in. Follow my step-by-step directions:

1)Open your broswer and type www.myspace.com.

This should block it from your work's security.

2)Click on start at the bottom right of your desktop screen.

3)Click on Run...

4)Type in the textbox this: command (as it is)

5)The windows screen command prompt is up then.

6)Type this: ipconfig /displaydns (as it is)

It lists all the sites your web browser has went to.

7)You should see an ip address under the site you want to go to.

8)Type in that ip address into your web broswer and see if it lets you go to it.

This sometimes works not all the time! It works, because it is locating the ip address and most of the time the security is only blocking the websites. =) Hopes this works for you as it does for me! Good Luck!
